Burnout Therapy in Dubai

Burnout therapy in Dubai and online, in English or French, for people who are running on empty and can't seem to refill the tank.

“I just need a proper holiday and I'll be fine.”

I hear some version of this almost every week. And almost every week, I gently disagree. Most of the people who sit in front of me have already taken the holiday. They came back, and by the second Monday they felt exactly the same.

What burnout looks like in my office

What I see is the reliable one. The person everyone counts on at work and at home, who kept going long after their body started asking them to stop.

What I see is someone who sleeps eight hours and wakes up tired. Who gets sick on the first day of every holiday. Who used to love their work and now dreads Sunday evening. Who snaps at the people they love most, then feels guilty about it for the rest of the night.

And very often, what I see is someone who understands exactly why they are exhausted, and still can't find a way out of it.

Is this you?

  • You wake up tired, even after a full night of sleep
  • Sunday evenings feel heavy before the week has even started
  • You fall sick as soon as you finally slow down
  • Things you used to enjoy now feel like another item on the list
  • You feel numb, detached, or like you are going through the motions
  • You are more irritable than you used to be, especially with the people closest to you
  • You know you should slow down, but something in you won't let you

Why rest alone doesn't fix it

Burnout is not only being tired. Stress, pressure, and older experiences you never had the space to process build up in your system, usually without you noticing as it happens. Over time, your nervous system stops treating that load as temporary. Staying on alert becomes its default mode.

So when you finally stop, your body doesn't quite believe it is allowed to. That is why a week on the beach can leave you feeling flat, restless, or even worse. Exhaustion is, in a way, your body pulling the handbrake you kept driving through.

In therapy, we don't fight your body to get you back to full speed. We work with it, so it can learn that it is safe to come down from high alert.

Burnout and self-worth

Underneath burnout, there is often a quieter belief: that your worth depends on how much you produce, how available you are, or how well you hold everything together. It sounds like “I have to earn my rest” or “If I slow down, I'll fall behind.”

That belief usually has a story, and it rarely started at your current job. Part of our work is getting to know it with curiosity instead of judgment, so you can work hard because you choose to, not because a part of you is afraid of what happens if you don't. How I work with burnout

  • Your body first. Grounding and somatic work help your nervous system settle, so change has somewhere to land.
  • The part that won't let you stop. With Internal Family Systems (IFS), we get to know the driven, responsible part of you, what it is protecting you from, and what it needs to let go a little.
  • EMDR, when the roots go deeper. If burnout is tied to old beliefs like “I'm only valuable when I'm useful,” or to past experiences, EMDR can help your system process them.
  • Real life. We also look at the practical side: boundaries, workload, saying no, and returning to work if you have been off.

None of this is about forcing yourself to change. Lasting change comes from self-compassion, not from adding “fix my burnout” to your to-do list.

Sessions

I see clients in person in Dubai and online, for people in Dubai and around the world, in English or French. Sessions usually last 50 minutes and are weekly at first. Insurance is accepted. You can start with a free 20-minute call to see whether we are a good fit.

Questions people often ask

Is it burnout or depression?

They can overlap, and one can lead to the other. In our first sessions, we look at what is going on together. If a medical assessment would help, I will tell you.

How long does burnout therapy take?

It depends on you and on what sits underneath. Some people notice small shifts in the first few weeks. Deeper change, the kind that keeps burnout from coming back, usually takes a few months.

Do I need to stop working?

Not necessarily. Many of my clients keep working while we do this work. If time off seems necessary, we will talk about it together.

Can I do burnout therapy online?

Yes. Online sessions work well for burnout, and they save you a drive across Dubai at the end of a long day.

Do you offer therapy in French?

Yes, all my sessions are available in English and in French.
