Areas of Expertise
Understanding is the beginning of change.
I work with adults, adolescents and couples experiencing a range of emotional, relational and life challenges. While every person's experience is unique, these are the areas I most often help clients work through.
Anxiety & Emotional Regulation
Anxiety can show up in many ways- constant overthinking, physical tension, emotional overwhelm, or a persistent sense of unease even when things seem “fine”. Together, we work to understand what's driving these responses and help you develop greater calm, regulation and trust in yourself.
May include: anxiety · overthinking · panic · emotional overwhelm · nervous system dysregulation · worry
Relationships & Attachment
Relationships can bring up some of our deepest patterns. You may notice recurring dynamics, challenges with boundaries, trust issues or difficulty expressing your needs. Therapy can help you understand these patterns and build healthier, more fulfilling connections.
May include: anxious or avoidant attachment · recurring conflicts · difficulty ending relationships · fear of abandonment · communication challenges
People Pleasing & Boundaries
Caring deeply for others can become exhausting when your own needs consistently come last. Together, we can understand these patterns and develop healthier boundaries without losing your capacity for care and connection.
May include: people pleasing · self-sacrifice · guilt · difficulty saying no · over-responsibility · conflict avoidance
Trauma & EMDR
Past experiences can continue to shape how you feel, respond and relate long after they are over. Trauma-informed therapy, including EMDR, can help you safely process what remains unresolved, so the past feels less present in your everyday life.
May include: childhood trauma · relational trauma · low self-esteem · PTSD · attachment wounds · distressing life events
Self-Worth & Perfectionism
You may place high expectations on yourself, struggle with self-criticism or find that your sense of worth depends on performing, pleasing or achieving. Therapy can help and support you in building a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself.
May include: perfectionism · low self-esteem · fear of failure · inadequacy · achievement pressure · difficulty resting
Feeling Stuck & Repeating Patterns
You may understand what you want to change, yet find yourself returning to the same reactions or situations. Together, we explore the underlying beliefs and patterns that keep you stuck and create new ways of responding that feel more aligned.
May include: addictive behaviors · avoidance · procrastination · self-sabotage · difficulty making changes
Stress, Burnout & Life Transitions
Periods of high stress, major changes or grief can leave you feeling overwhelmed, exhausted or disconnected. Therapy can help you navigate these transitions, build resilience, adapt to the circumstances and find a greater sense of balance and clarity.
May include: burnout · depression · grief and bereavement · losses · identity shifts · physical symptoms
Confidence & Personal Growth
Sometimes we may have a growing sense that the life you're living no longer feels fully aligned with who you are. Our work can help you reconnect with your values, strengthen your confidence and move toward a life that feels more intentional and authentic.
May include: confidence · depression · purpose · personal growth · values
Therapeutic Approaches
A personalized, integrative approach
I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach or therapy. I integrate evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches depending on your needs, goals and what emerges through our work together.
Some approaches focus on thoughts and behaviors, while others help us work with emotions, the nervous system, past experiences and deeper patterns.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based approach designed to help process experiences that feel unresolved or continue to impact you.
At times, certain memories are not fully integrated and can remain active in your system - shaping how you feel, respond, and relate.
Different from traditional therapies, EMDR supports the brain in reprocessing these experiences, allowing them to settle and integrate more fully.
As this happens, emotional intensity decreases, and patterns that once felt automatic can begin to shift naturally. EMDR is highly effective treating past traumas, limiting beliefs, intrusive thoughts and cognitive blocks.
Parts Work (Internal Family Systems – IFS)
Internal family systems is a gentle, evidence-based therapy that helps you heal by understanding and connecting with the different parts inside of you.
We learn how your personality was developed from your experiences and that each part of you has a role. Some parts try to protect you.
Others may carry emotions or experiences that haven't been fully processed.
Rather than trying to change or suppress these parts, we approach them with curiosity and compassion to help every part feel seen, heard and valued.
Somatic Approach
A somatic approach brings attention to the body and nervous system.
Many of our experiences are not only held in thoughts, but also physically - through tension, activation, or disconnection. Learning about the neuroscience behind it and what our body needs to return to baseline, we hold the power to regulate ourselves, which then allows us to respond to situations with an increased level of presence rather than to react from a survival mode.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT focuses on changing your relationship to your thoughts and emotions, rather than trying to eliminate them.
It supports you in developing psychological flexibility, but also in connecting you to your core values, which then become the compass you need in order to live an aligned life. You'll learn to stay present, to distance from your thoughts and to stay connected to what matters to you, while being able to take meaningful action even in the presence of discomfort.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT explores the connection between your thoughts, emotions and behaviors. It can help you recognize patterns of thinking and responding that may contribute to anxiety, self-criticism, feeling stuck or conflictual relationships. Together, we work on developing more balanced perspectives and practical ways of responding, helping you create meaningful changes in how you feel, think and navigate everyday life.
